We made a presentation about a story called “Words on a Page”. We were given questions that we were to answer in a presentation form. I choose to do a PowerPoint. the story was about a teenage Ojibway girl that loved to read and write stories. She got the opportunity to go to Thunder Bay to read in a competition. When she asks her dad if she can go, he says no! That made her really upset. her mother told her to be patient and he will eventually say that you can go. A few weeks ago we made Found Poems. They were based on the story “And the Lucky Winner Is.” It was about a boy named Nev, who was in a heliolite accident and was paralyzed. His girlfriend Peri, really wanted to help him get better, but his only change was getting his number drawn from the Hi-Med lottery fund. The chances were very slim. Peri’s brother Jon, had the gift of telekinesis. She wanted Jon to use it to move Nev’s number so that it would get drawn. They went to the Hi-Med lottery and Jon used his telekinesis to move the number, but there was another lady that was using telekinesis. Nev’s number never got drawn. After a few months, Jon helped Nev get better by using his telekinesis. We made the Found Poem by taking phrases from the story and making the poem make sense.
